Project Summary
Working in collaboration with partners at NC Sea Grant and the Coastal Studies Institute, the CDDL was responsible for developing the initial set of planting templates for the Coastal Landscapes Initiative (CLI) to educate coastal property owners on sustainable landscaping practices and promote the use of ecologically beneficial plants and plant communities.
The planting templates are developed to satisfy a range of sustainable landscaping goals, including but not limited to a focus on native NC plant communities, wetland plants, resilient construction materials, flood plain development and management, coastal plain soils, traditional development materials, coastal development regulations, and accessible design.
